Costa Paradiso, perhaps not a well
chosen name for the wild, breath-taking
beauty of this part of the coast: the
scenery reminds us in fact more of
Dante's Hell. The coast slopes down to
the sea, from a height of a few hundred
metres, covered with reddish rocks
(whence the hellish aspect of the
scenery), contrasting with the deep
blue of the sea and the green of certain
plants, typical of the area, called "li rosi
marini" (=sea-roses).
